As one of the few textile techniques that completely eludes machine automation, crocheting serves as a tool for personal resistance against information overload and permanent online availability. This project explores the physical craft as a tactile anchor, contrasting the volatile light of modern displays with unhurried, physical time.
The creative process bridges the physical and digital worlds through precise motor tracking. Using Motion Capture technology, the repetitive movements and trajectories of the artist's hands during the crocheting process were recorded as raw spatial data (XYZ coordinates over time).
This data is then streamed into TouchDesigner, which functions as a digital loom. The software processes the hand trajectories in real-time, using the physical labor to organically deform, generate, and redraw the fluid visuals that form the generative screensavers.
